The Michigan Association of Broadcasters announced the winners of the 2014 Michigan Student Broadcast Awards. Out of 578 entries this year five students from Fraser High School have received awards and will be honored at the Great Lakes Broadcasting Conference and Expo in March.
In the High School Television division and Public Service Announcement category Courtney Winnie and Gage Daldine received an honorable mention for their “Alcohol Gets In The Way” video. In the Hard News category Andrew Sokolowski, Jason Hartless, and Jeana Gondek are also awarded an Honorable Mention for the “Gum Story”. That report was created by that team for Fraser High School Broadcast Journalism’s work with the PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs.
