Fraser Varsity Volleyball vs Chippewa Valley

Carmen Yan

The parents were talking to each other but the Fraser spirit was really low. There were no  cheered and none of the regular students who would be there yelling and screaming on the top of their lungs.  It was Fraser varsity volleyball vs Chippewa Valley varsity volleyball team.

Fraser girls started out the match with high fives to everyone encouraging each other. Then they talked to each other about their strategy. They want to make sure that they beat Chippewa Valley having beaten the same just last year. The set began with Chippewa Valley’s  serve. Fraser kept up with the other team trying to not fall short. Although Fraser had a great defense Chippewa Valley being sneaky, instead attacking full on, they decided to get points by tipping  the ball over the net to earn points . Consequently, Fraser started to do the same move of tipped the ball over to get points. The match was intense. The scoreboard was 23-24 Chippewa Valley just need a point to score match point. This lead to a Fraser tried to keep the ball in the air but that stop when Fraser efforts to keep the ball in the air and Player Kelly McCoy did a somersault to save the ball but missed. The set ended with Chippewa Valley won the first set. (23-25)

Second set began with the parents speaking to each other. Fraser Varsity volleyball team head coach, Kristi Skladanowski encouraged the team. They were feeling lost that they were defeated by the team they beat last year. The second set started out with Fraser’s serve. The girls tried to make sure not to the lose this set to Chippewa Valley and by communicating with each other. They were serious about not losing and they were confident that they were going to win. Fraser girls had a hard time again being that they began to feel that were defeated in the first set and making them fell behind Chippewa Valley. The encouragement for the team was low except for one dad cheering for the team. But, that gave only a little encouragement for the team. Then gave their best but Chippewa valley scored the match point. (16-25)

Last set was the same as the last 2 sets that no cheered or spirit. In the last set, Fraser lost to Chippewa valley was either getting to them or they were already in defeat.  The girls was ready to give up.  They continued to try to get more points to beat Chippewa valley but they were still so behind. Chippewa Valley scored the match point and winning. (17-25)

It was a great game but it was hard on the team since they didn’t want to defeated by a team they can win. The spirit from the crowd was really affected on the team. No cheer or spirit if you want the girls to win a game please come out and cheer for them.
