Congratulations to Breyanne Stallman, who participated in the Michigan School Vocal Music Association Solo and Ensemble Festival at Lake Orion High School this past weekend.
This event requires students to prepare two contrasting vocal pieces, including one in a foreign language. The performances are then evaluated on tonal quality, breath control, musical and language elements, interpretations, and overall presentations. In addition to their prepared solos, students must also complete a sight-reading assessment for a second judge within a six-minute time frame.
Each section is scored out of 30 points. There is a possible 120 points available for all three parts. Breyanne earned a 29/30 on her solo and a perfect 30/30 on her sigh-reading, for an outstanding score of 117/120.
