The Fraser High School Girls Basketball team has had an amazing season thus far. Their current record as of Thursday, February 5th is 9-2.
The girls take on Port Huron Northern at home again tomorrow, February 6th, with their 10th win up for grabs.
We reached out and a few of the girls shared some inside details as to what being a member of this team looks like for them.
Senior Michaela Chandler gives insight on the team’s goal for the rest of the season.
“We have worked hard this season and we hope to defend out title as MAC Blue Champs,” Chandler said.
Junior Isabella Gjinaj shares her perspective on their season up to this point.
“We’ve definitely had our ups and downs trying to find our groove, and I believe we are reaching our highest potential with each day passing. With two early losses this season, we believe it’s not how you start, it’s how you finish,” Gjinaj said.
Overall, it is clear the girls have put time, passion, and plenty of hard work into each practice and game. They plan to continue putting this energy into all that they do through the rest of the season.
Senior night for the girls is next Thursday, February 12th where the seniors will be recognized for their dedication and leadership during their time on the team. The day will also represent a time to pass down their legacy to the underclassmen on the team who will continue to strive for greatness in years coming.
