Congratulations to the Fraser choir students who participated in the Michigan School Vocal Music Association State Musical Theatre Solo and Ensemble Festival on Saturday, November 8th, at Oxford High School.
During the festival, the students were required to prepare two vocal selections that have contrasting style. Also, one of the selections had to have been written before 1965. The selections were evaluated based on criteria such as tonal beauty, breath control, musical and language elements, interpretation, and presentation. Each student could earn up to 30 points.
Three students received first division ratings. They are Mia Dunham, Breyanne Stallman, and Madeline Vanderford. Their scores are below.
First Division Ratings:
Mia Dunham, Senior, 24/30
Breyanne Stallman, Junior, 30/30 PERFECT SCORE!
Madeline Vanderford, Senior, 26/30
These students should feel proud for their impressive achievements. Their First Division Rating has qualified them to audition for the All-State Music Theatre Honors Ensemble.
