Each and every year for the past 20 years, Dreamworks always seems to have success with their movie releases. From Antz to Shrek, from Shark Tale to Madagascar, from Over the Hedge to Kung Fu Panda. Now the upcoming continuation of the Madagascar series, Penguins of Madagascar is on its way.

From the looks of it, the film seems very similar to its Nickelodeon TV show counterpart. It also seems like it will live up to the second Madagascar movie’s hype. It is the plot that separates this from the other two movies. Based on a few websites such as IMDb, their preview says, “Super spy teams aren’t born…they’re hatched. Discover the secrets of the greatest and most hilarious covert birds in the global espionage biz: Skipper, Kowalski, Rico and Private. These elitists of the elite are joining forces with a chic undercover organization, The North Wind.” It is very different from a group of zoo animals wanting to visit Africa for a friend’s birthday. Based on the plot summary of the Nickelodeon show, the movie plot is similar but is taken to more dramatic measures. People could say it’s the Spy Kids with penguins.

In terms of promotion, pop artist Pitbull is doing a music video for his single “Celebrate” from his album Globalization with the cartoon penguins. The movie will be in theaters November 26. It is very expected that it will bring in a lot of sales, but the real question is whether it will be worth the watch or not.
