Fraser Varsity Soccer Boys Win 3-0 Against Utica

Emily Drumm

The Fraser Varsity soccer boys played Utica Monday night and refused to leave without winning the game. Alex Mezin set the tone of the first half with a goal 17 minutes in. The energy on the field began to slow down until Fraser picked it up 21 minutes past half time when junior Jordan Hogard put the ball in the back of the net, pushing the Ramblers in a 2-0 lead. Moving toward the end of the game, Brendan Soloman scored yet another goal for the team with less than six minutes left. Fraser finished the game 3-0

Matt Lentine, Collin Haggerty, and Justin Piccolo each had assists for the three goals scored Monday night, and goalie Alec Sharpe had his 15th shutout for the season. That game propelled the team’s record forward to 17-0-3, so it is easily said that the win was very important for them.

The Ramblers play again this Wednesday against Ford. Coach Mukhtar needs only one more win to have 700 in his career. Good luck boys!
