Positive Thinking

As teenagers we have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the people around us. We can wake up every morning with an optimistic attitude as we go throughout the day, and be a light for the people around us. However, most of us just go through the motions every day. We walk through the halls with blank faces, and have sour attitudes towards fellow students. We wine and complain about everything that goes wrong or makes us fight for what we believe in. Being a positive influence starts with you. You need to have the self discipline to say, “Ya know what, today’s going to be awesome!” It might be hard to believe that just waking up and starting the day joyful will impact your life that much but it honestly will. Going through life and complain will not get you anywhere. Start with a positive attitude and being to make a positive impact on others around you. Walking through the halls it’s not hard to hear some of the horrible things people are saying about each other, and some of the things being said are things people are saying about their friends. How can you say that you are a friend if you are going around talking about your friends? Drama between friends is what kills friendships and being in high school we need people that we should be about to talk to about anything without worrying that they are going to go announce it to the whole school. If something in our school is not as it should be, fix it. Bullying, mocking, and teasing happen every day. You have the ability to change the school. Take a leap of faith and make an everlasting difference. You can stand up for the students who are too quite to stand up for themselves. It breaks my heart to see all of these negative things taking place at Fraser High School. Next year is my last year, and I would like to think that this school will be a more positive place because of me and others who refuse to see this school be ruled with negative attitudes, slander, and drama. You have the power to impact the school however you choose. Make the change in your life to have the mind set to be the kind of person who stands up for what they believe in. If you really don’t care what happens here at FHS or anywhere maybe it’s time to change your attitude. This is how we build a culture of success.
