Have you ever wondered how Keke Palmer thought of the name of her debut album, So Uncool? It’s because Keke believes that being considered “uncool” is actually very cool. But the creativity of her album stops there, and the rest of her album was close to uncool. Overall, the CD was unexciting, and Keke’s voice was nasally at times. Some songs like “Footworkin’” are supposed to make you dance. With lyrics such as, “Watch ya feet work, watch ya head jerk, on ya tip toes kickin’ up dirt with ya footwork,” however, it’s still not something you would want to dance to or put on your iPod, with forgettable rhythm and words. However, the CD isn’t horrible, with songs that Palmer penned herself with her sister on issues people could relate to such as “Skin Deep.” Palmer commented that this was a song “for those people who are truly beautiful, but they just don’t see it. I wanted to tell everyone who might have insecurities that each of us is beautiful in our own way.” The song “How I Know?” gives thought to a person wondering if they’re in love through different signs and emotions. Overall, the CD is best aimed towards fans of Pop or R&B music; but, also serves well for an audience of a younger generation.
