Beauty, brains, and broadcast. Sarah Politis has no doubt excelled in all aspects of her high school career. From band to student council to the voice of the daily announcements, this girl is easily the most well known face around FHS. The combination of Politis’ spunky personality along with her involvement in an array of activities has allowed her to achieve incredible things. Politis used high school as a time to have fun. One of her favorite high school memories involved a 10 th grade English field trip to Canada for a Shakespearean play. While sitting in the back of the bus with a group of friends, they became rowdy due to the long bus ride. The group decided to make signs to flash at cars behind them. Ironically, after posting one of the boy’s phone numbers, they received a call. A couple just happened to be attending the same play as the class. They found the couple at the venue and even took a picture with them. “We were so rebellious on the way home that Mrs. Rorai joined us and we sang songs like ‘Don’t Stop Believin’!” Politis said. Politis definitely made a memorable impact on Fraser High School. No matter what the situation, she found a way to make everyone feel good about themselves. At the beginning of her senior year, she even started a hug calendar. “I started a hug calendar with the purpose of hugging someone different everyday, no repeats! I was keeping track of it until I lost my agenda back in January. I think I left it in one of the bathrooms – lame,” Politis said. Part of Politis’ success was the way that she viewed high school. She surrounded herself with positive people who built her up. Also, she saw high school as an opportunity to try new things and meet new people. With this view, she became an outgoing and fun loving student. Next year, Politis plans on “kicking butt and taking names!” She will be attending the University of Southern California to major in journalism. With her confident and fierce attitude, Politis will easily continue to succeed. In the future, we can only hope that Politis will make a shout-out to her fellow Fray-town alumni on her talk show. In proper Politis closing fashion, “Make the day count Fraser; don’t lose sight of your dreams.”
