Rihanna’s new album “Unapologetic,” was recently released on November 19, 2012. Rihanna’s song “Diamonds,” her major hit single, has a music video that’s breathtaking. It starts off with Rihanna doing what “bad girls do”: playing around with diamonds, in the pool, and chilling. Everything is happening in slow motion as flash backs occur and the smoke goes into the screen. The first words you hear are “Shine bright like a diamond.” Rihanna, in black and white, repeats these words with no base and a soft melody of a piano in the background. Boom, boom, boom. The bass comes in enhancing the soft piano and making Rihanna’s voice sound soulful. As flashbacks play, she sings out her majestic words, “ You’re a shooting star I see. A vision of ecstasy. When you hold me, I’m alive. We’re like diamonds in the sky.” Pouring her soul out, everything in the video seems to be rewinding and happening in slow motion. Rihanna sings her words so peaceful, yet it’s like she’s crying her heart out. This catchy tone played in the background sticks to your memory as she has you fantasize about shinning bright like a diamond. “Unapologetic” is now available on iTunes for $15.99 and in stores.
