On March 10 and 11th, the Fraser High School bands participated in Band Festival at Anchor Bay High School. A total of 253 Fraser high school band kids decided to participate at the festival.

The bands were critiqued on five different areas of music: Tone, Intonation, Rhythm, Technique, and Interpretation. Grades of A through E were assigned to each of the five categories based on how well the bands sounded. Along with being critiqued in five key areas, the bands’ scores were calculated by three judges for a total of 15 grades. The ratings ranged from Superior to Fifth Division. Each band was also tested on Sight Reading for a piece of music they never played before.

On Friday March 10th, the Symphony Band received a Superior Performance and straight First Division Ratings. On Saturday March 11th, the varsity band received a Superior Performance as well. The Concert Band received Superior Performance on Saturday and straight division ratings in every category.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in this event and worked hard!
