Falcon Food

The Ramblers went into their March 9th District Semi Final matchup, hoping to get a win against a good Henry Ford II team. That was not the case though as the Falcons came out shooting good in the first quarter. Henry Ford’s Sammy Rizzo and Alek Ivanovic hit a couple of 3-pointers to start off the game. Fraser answered back by scoring seven straight points to take their only lead of the game. Ford finished the quarter on a 13-5 run that put them up 19-12.

The Ramblers were never able to recover from their rough first quarter. The lack of baskets made and constant turnovers are what caused Fraser to get blown out. They ended up losing this game 71-41 and were outscored in all 4 quarters.

Sophomore Brendan Gordley led the Ramblers in scoring with fourteen points. Jordan Bell and Ken Pham each added eight points apiece. The Ramblers finished with a 3-18 record for the year. They definitely took a huge step back after finishing 9-13 last year and losing to Chippewa Valley in the District Finals. Fraser will return most of their team next year including sophomores Brendan Gordley, Matt Lockhart, and junior guard Jordan Bell, who all saw significant playing time this year.

Henry Ford’s Sammy Rizzo led all scorers with eighteen points including five 3-pointers. He had a little help from Donnie Schuster and Alek Ivanovic, who scored fourteen and sixteen points respectively. Those three combined for all thirteen of the Falcons’ 3-pointers.
The Falcons improve to 13-9 on the season. They play Sterling Heights’ Stevenson High School on Friday night at 6 p.m. for the Class A District Championship. Stevenson has yet to win a District title since 2006 while Henry Ford II last captured one the following year.
