Alternative music band, Panic! At The Disco released a new album called Death of a Bachelor. Many of Panic!’s fans are very excited for the release and has started pre-ordering it and downloading its pre-released songs such as “Victorious” and “Hallelujah”. Although the song that the album has been named after has not been officially released yet, there has been a radio special and music video released for it and fans are frantic for its release.

“Death of a Bachelor” is a more slower, jazzy song compared to any of Panic! At The Disco’s previous music. The cause for this change can be the fact that Brendon Urie, who is the lead singer, is also now the only member of Panic! At The Disco. Many fans were devastated when Spencer Smith left the band, but Brendon definitely showed fans that Panic! is still giving them amazing songs to sing and dance to.

One of Brendon Urie’s big idols is Frank Sinatra, who he dedicated “Death of a Bachelor” to, which would explain the jazzy style of the song–in fact, Urie is such a lifetime fan of Sinatra’s that he has Frank Sinatra’s face tattooed on his arm– but Urie kept the sound of Panic! true with a modern, hip hop bass and his high vocals. The song is about a person that other people have seen changed, and it is because he has now fallen in love hence the title “Death of a Bachelor”.

“The death of a bachelor/ Ohohoh/ Seems so fitting for/ Happily ever after/ Oooh/ How could I ask for more” is the catchy, upbeat chorus that listeners will sing and dance to as smooth trumpets and modern bass play in the background. However some of the lyrics are a bit contradictory to the ‘happily ever after’ kind of chorus; for example, “Alone at a table for two/ And I just want to be served/ And when you think of me/ Am I the best you’ve ever had?/ Share one more drink with me/ Smile even though you’re sad”. Although listeners can interpret as the bachelor himself smiling on the outside even though he is really lonely.

There are no fans panicking about Panic! At The Disco’s recently released songs and soon-to-be released album on January 1. They are ready to dance and sing along with the songs like “Death of a Bachelor” and “Don’t Threaten Me with a Good Time”. Panic! At The Disco has been around for about a decade, and they appeal to the younger crowd since they grew up listening to their music. As the listeners become older, they will still have Panic! to listen to as they start new stages in life such as college, careers and adult life. Panic! At The Disco has a more fun way of relating to the life of adults to the younger crowd.
