Roar has a mid-tempo; jungle feel gives a self empowerment message that ‘you will hear me, because I’m not going to keep quiet. I am done being held down.’ The anthem has been compared to Sara Bareilles’s “Brave” in meaning and in voice style.
Although this comparison has arisen, it does not discredit the message that both are trying to share with common phrases like, “I went from zero, to my own hero.”-Roar
